Adelaide are set to use Snoop Dogg as part of their defence to lessen the punishment given to star Izak Rankine for using a homophobic slur.
Rankine is awaiting a suspension from the AFL Integrity Unit after admitting to making the derogatory comment during the match against Collingwood last weekend.
AFL personality Eddie McGuire announced on Tuesday night that Rankine was to be banned for five matches, but an official suspension is yet to be announced by the AFL.
A five-match ban would officially end Rankine's season, while four matches would see it likely be finished, unless Adelaide lose in the qualifying final and go on to make the grand final.

With famous American rapper Snoop Dogg set to perform at this year's AFL grand final, the Crows are set to use this 'inconsistency' as part of their defence for Rankine, along with the precedent set by other AFL suspensions.
Snoop Dogg used the same homophobic slur as Rankine in a 1998 song 'Doggz Gonna Get Ya'.
"In general the Crows are pushing back on the AFL for its inconsistencies", the Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph tweeted.
"Why book Snoop Dogg after the rightful AFL campaign again homophobia? Why does Willie Rioli get one week for a serious threat but Rankine five weeks? Why did Finlayson get three in ‘24 but Rankine five?"
The suspension length for Rankine is expected to be officially announced by the AFL on Thursday.
