Essendon legend James Hird has expressed his disappointment and frustration that the Bombers are in the news again, this time for a potential board challenge.
According to Nine reporter Tom Morris on 9News, 'a major board challenge is imminent at Essendon' with at least one former player looking at ousting Bombers president David Barnham.
The Bombers have already had a tumultuous offseason with news that captain Zach Merrett and defender Jordan Ridley want to be traded away from the club.
Hird, who won two premierships and a Norm Smith Medal at Essendon, said he wasn't involved in the challenge and wants the club to focus on winning games.

"I was disappointed to come on here and have to talk about it," Hird said on Nine's Footy Furnace.
"I had nothing to do with it and knew nothing about it... It's disappointing that the club is again in the news for the wrong reasons.
"Hopefully it will play out and the best thing that can happen for the club is we get on and win games of football next year."
After another difficult season with injuries, the Bombers came in 15th with just six wins and 17 losses, but will have two first-round draft picks and potentially a third first-round pick as compensation for Sam Draper leaving through free agency.
Hird said the instability is hurting the club, which needs to move its focus back to playing good football.
"I don't think instability is great for a footy club at any stage," he said.
"I just want the focus to be on the Essendon football club winning games."
