Fremantle duo Liam Reidy and Will Brodie have both requested trades from the Dockers, wanting to go to Carlton and Port Adelaide, respectively.

Both Reidy and Brodie played for Peel Thunder, Fremantle's WAFL team, in their 2024 premiership win.

Will Brodie was traded to Fremantle from Gold Coast in 2021, with the Dockers trading a second and fourth round pick to receive Brodie and picks 19, 61 and 69.

Brodie has played 29 games across four seasons at the Dockers, including 24 games in the 2022 season, during which he averaged 26.8 disposals per game, and 45 games for Peel Thunder.

Brodie was selected at pick 9 in the 2016 national draft, playing 25 games across five seasons for the Suns.

Liam Reidy has played in only three games for the Dockers since making his debut in round 23, 2024 and wants to be traded to Carlton, who will lose ruckman Tom De Koning to St Kilda.

Reidy was picked up by the Dockers in the 2022 rookie draft, but the 204cm ruckman has been behind Luke Jackson and Sean Darcy in the ruck duties for Freo.

The ruckman played 52 games for Peel Thunder across his three seasons at the club, but will be hoping for more AFL games at Carlton.

Fremantle's executive general manager of football, Joe Briety, explained that Brodie's trade will be more complex as he is still contracted for next year, while Reidy is out of contract this year.

“We respect the requests from Liam and Will to seek trades in a hope to get more senior opportunities at AFL level,” Brierty said.

“Will is obviously contracted for 2027, so we will work through that during the trade period to facilitate outcomes for both the players and the Club.”
