While not exactly a show-stopping contest for football fans, Friday night's match has plenty of significance to Gold Coast's big picture.

The Suns have played strong footy over the past few weeks and should have been rewarded with a win against Melbourne.

For West Coast, their fans are hopeful that the size of the losses become less and less, although that appears unlikely in the near future.

Stuart Dew's men should be looking to get some confidence back after falling short last week and potentially put themselves into finals contention, although it seems like a long shot.
