Westen Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has fired another shot in the direction of Kane Cornes, telling reporters on Wednesday that he “feels sorry" for them for having to work with the controversial journalist.
The jab comes after the two crossed paths on the sideline ahead of the Dogs’ clash with Geelong back in Round 11, the pair seen exchanging words in what Cornes described later as “something to have a bit of a laugh about.”
Beveridge himself downplayed the incident post-game, telling reporters he wasn’t about to drum up controversy and would rather focus on talking about his side’s 14-point loss.

"I know what you're trying to do, you're not going to get me to bite,” Beveridge said at the time.

True to form, Cornes told his side of the story, stating that he copped a spray from the Dogs’ coach over the way he and fellow Channel 7 reporters had covered the team earlier in the season.
"The reaction was the reaction that you saw. I don’t know if it’s for me to share what he said,” Cornes said, after sharing he’d acknowledged Beveridge with a head nod on the sideline.
“I’m happy to tell you exactly my part in this. other than to say 'Bevo', and nodded my head, it wasn’t received well.
“It was something along the lines of, 'You’ve got the nerve to say that', and I just said, 'What, I can’t say hello?'. Then he turned around again and started to go again and that’s when he was dragged away."
Cornes hasn’t shied away from criticising Beveridge, recently stating he should lose his job if superstar forward Sam Darcy gets injured playing in the ruck.
“(Beveridge) has just signed a new contract but if Sam Darcy gets injured in the centre bounce, sack him, sack Luke Beveridge for this decision,” Cornes said on Channel 7.
“If he gets injured doing this, sack the coach. That’s how serious this is. Put Aaron Naughton in there, he can’t can’t buy a football (at the moment).”
