St Kilda has surged ahead in the pursuit of Gold Coast midfielder Sam Flanders, with reports suggesting the Saints have tabled a mammoth five-year offer worth $900,000 per season.
SEN’s Sam Edmund revealed the chase for the 23-year-old has “exploded”, with the Saints now considered “in the box seat” to prise him away from Carrara despite Flanders being contracted for another two seasons.
To sweeten the deal, St Kilda has reportedly put its no.7 pick on the table for November’s draft, even though the Suns already hold pick six.

Bombers still circling
While the Saints are seen as frontrunners, Essendon remain a live option. Edmund noted on X that “Essendon also still in play here. The Bombers have indicated they will deal their two picks in the 20s. Suns want players back, however, whether in this potential exchange or others.”
The midfielder has already met with multiple clubs as he weighs up a move during October’s trade window, with Melbourne also previously linked through suggestions of a Christian Petracca-to-Gold Coast blockbuster.
For now, though, all signs point towards Moorabbin as Flanders’ most likely landing spot, with the Saints making their intentions abundantly clear.
