After their 67-point loss to the Sydney Swans in their final game of the season, the West Coast Eagles have officially slumped to a 12-year AFL low, becoming the first side in over a decade to finish a season with just one win.
The GWS Giants were the last team to end a season with just a single win, finishing 2013 with just one victory - their second season in the competition.
West Coast now become the fourth team in the AFL era to finish a season with just one win.
First-year coach Andrew McQualter reflected on a tough season following his side’s defeat to Sydney, expressing optimism about the future.

“It’s frustrating that it’s over in a way because I want to keep getting better,” he said post-game.
“Been a hell of a long year, [a] challenging year.
“You won’t endure many more difficult seasons than what we’ve just had.
“I’m certain we’ve gotten better this year. I really believe that.”
The Eagles’ lone win came back in round 10, where they downed St Kilda by 28 points at Optus Stadium.
They were unfortunate to not clock up multiple wins, losing by two points separately to Essendon and Richmond, while also nearly upsetting premiership contenders Brisbane and Adelaide.
But 2025 marks a new low point for the Eagles, who have accumulated just 11 wins over the previous four seasons.
The upcoming off-season shapes as a defining one for the club, with there being a strong chance the Eagles own the first two picks of the draft with captain Oscar Allen looking set to leave, which could in turn net them band one compensation.
The future of their young star Harley Reid is also expected to become much clearer, with the 20-year-old tipped to reject rival Victorian interest, and sign a mammoth deal to remain out west.
