Bukayo Saka injury update: Arsenal managing injury crisis ahead of Premier League's return image

We're only three games into the English Premier League season and Arsenal are already dealing with a number of key injuries.

Ahead of their first game back against Nottingham Forest following the international break, the Gunners are sweating on the health of several first-team players, including Kai Havertz, William Saliba, Ben White, Christian Nørgaard and Bukayo Saka.

When will Bukayo Saka return from Injury?

Saka suffered a hamstring injury in Arsenal's 5-0 win over Leeds United, missing their loss to Liverpool and did not travel with England for international duty.

"Bukayo is doing better, but he will be out for a few weeks, unfortunately," Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said.

"No surgery, it’s not as bad as the previous one. Very unfortunate to pick it up because it’s on the other side. It’s an action that requires full power from him. Then, he clashed with the opponent; he needed to change pace again, and he felt something. So he will be out for a couple of weeks."

While there is optimism the 24-year-old could return for Arsenal's game against Forest, it's likely he will miss the match as well as their Champions League opener against Athletic Bilbao, with a return for their blockbuster game against Manchester City the following week on the cards.

Despite the loss of Saka, Arsenal's robust transfer window has given them sufficient depth to cover Saka's absence with the likes of Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze on hand, along with Ethan Nwaneri and Leandro Trossard out wide. Meanwhile, 15-year-old Max Dowman has already impressed this season, making his debut against Leeds, becoming the second-youngest player in Premier League history.

Arsenal, who currently sit third on the table after three games, behind Chelsea and Liverpool, with two wins and one loss, will be bolstered with Ben White and Christian Norgaard set to be available against Forest.

William Saliba isn't expected back till the end of the month against Newcastle, while Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus will remain sidelined till November.
