The NBA G League Draft marks the unofficial start of the 2023-24 season.

This year's NBA G League campaign will be bigger than ever before. The Rip City Remix, the affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers, will make their debut, pushing the NBA G League to 31 total teams spread out across North America.

Several squads will be adding players to their rosters during Saturday's draft, providing opportunities for prospects to launch their professional careers.

Here is everything you need to know about the 2023 NBA G League Draft.

When is the 2023 NBA G League Draft?

  • Date: Saturday, Oct. 28
  • Time: 1 p.m. ET

The 2023 NBA G League Draft will start at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 28. Fans can keep up with the latest results from the draft by following the official NBA G League social media accounts.

Player eligibility for the NBA G League Draft

In order to be eligible for the NBA G League Draft, players must be at least 18 years old. The draft class is comprised of prospects who weren't selected in the NBA Draft, played internationally or didn't land on an NBA roster ahead of the 2023-24 season.

NBA G League contracts

Players can sign a one-year contract with the NBA G League itself rather than individual teams. Certain players can also sign a two-way contract with an NBA team.

Here are the rules for two-way contracts, per the NBA G League website:

NBA teams may have up to three players under NBA Two-Way Contracts who will spend the bulk of the season in the NBA G League and not more than 45 days with their NBA team. Only players with four or fewer years of NBA service are able to sign Two-Way Contracts, which can be for either one or two seasons.

Full list of NBA G League teams

There are currently 31 teams in the NBA G League. The Suns are the only NBA team without a G League affiliate, but owner Mat Ishbia told The Athletic's Shams Charania earlier this year that the franchise is working toward launching a G League team as soon as the 2024-25 season.

The NBA G League Ignite and Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico are not affiliated with NBA franchises.
