Micah Parsons stats, highlights vs. Cowboys: Packers star overcomes quiet night with game-changing OT sack image

JUMP TO:

The storyline entering "Sunday Night Football" was Micah Parsons' return to Dallas, but defense did not dominate the night by any means.

The Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys combined for 80 points, 40 apiece, in the NFL's first tie in three years. Parsons, meanwhile, was held almost completely in check in regulation, limited to two assisted tackles. It wasn't until overtime that he started to break through against his former teammates on Dallas' offensive line.

Parsons recorded a sack of Dak Prescott in the red zone on the Cowboys' overtime drive, chasing down his former teammate and potentially preventing a touchdown. Dallas kicked a field goal, which Green Bay matched on the other end, and Parsons' sack might have been the difference between a loss and the tie.

Micah Parsons live updates, highlights from Packers vs. Cowboys

All times Eastern.

12:11 a.m. — The Packers and Cowboys end in a 40-40 TIE, and Parsons' overtime sack goes down as potentially the difference between a loss and a tie for Green Bay. What a game!

11:55 p.m. — That is indeed a sack, and it was a potentially game-saving sack.

11:54 p.m. — Parsons chases down Prescott and takes him down right near the line of scrimmage. We'll see if that's a sack, but it's at least his first solo tackle.

11:52 p.m. — Prescott makes a ridiculous throw to Jalen Tolbert with Parsons in his face in the new most dramatic moment of this unbelievable game.

11:50 p.m. — Parsons got a shot at Prescott, but the Cowboys quarterback got it to George Pickens quickly for a big gain.

11:43 p.m. — The Packers and Cowboys are headed to overtime after a 53-yard field goal by Brandon McManus.

11:34 p.m. — This game has turned into a shootout, and Parsons' name just hasn't been called much. The Cowboys are protecting Prescott well, and the entire offense is responding. Dallas leads 37-34 with 43 seconds on the clock.

10:59 p.m. — Parsons just made his biggest impact of the night, getting around Tyler Guyton and nearly swiping the ball out of Prescott's hands. Prescott got rid of it but threw incomplete under pressure on third down.

10:58 p.m. — Parsons is back in the game, but he's been quieted by double teams for much of the night.

10:36 p.m. — Parsons has had a quiet night, and he is now in the medical tent after holding his lower back. The concussion specialist went into the tent with Parsons, according to the NBC broadcast.

9:42 p.m. — The Cowboys avoid Parsons' wrath on a touchdown drive, which got into the red zone on a terrific catch by George Pickens. Dallas is back within four points of the Packers.

9:30 p.m. — Parsons, who has been coming in and out of the game, recorded his first assisted tackle of the night but hasn't yet gotten to Prescott.

8:50 p.m. — Parsons didn't get to Prescott on the Cowboys' second possession, but the Packers have dominated time of possession to this point.

8:35 p.m. — The Cowboys ran the ball on each of their first three offensive plays, so Parsons didn't get an early crack at Dak Prescott.

8:22 p.m. — Parsons still has his suite at AT&T Stadium and has plenty of family in it tonight, per the NBC broadcast.

8:00 p.m. — Parsons is suited up and locked in for his return to Dallas.
