Australia looks to have produced another star NFL punter, with Jeremy Crawshaw currently lighting it up for the Denver Broncos

Drafted in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Crawshaw was taken with the 216th pick by Denver, continuing a long lineage of Aussie punters that include current starters like Chicago's Tory Taylor and Seattle's Michael Dickson.

But the rookie has achieved an impressive feat through his two career starts that neither of his compatriots can claim, and it has Broncos fans feeling bullish about their new recruit.

The NFL has long had an infatuation with Australian punters, and the latest to put his leg to the test in the world's biggest league is Penrith product Jeremy Crawshaw.

Two games into his career, and the 24-year-old is in the midst of an impressive streak: all six of his career punts have come down inside the 20-yard line, a hugely significant feat in helping his team establish field position.

After an inconsistent training camp and pre-season, Crawshaw has come into his own to start his professional career, leading to praise from the Denver fan base.

"I normally hate burning draft picks on legs, but Broncos look like they got a good one in Jeremy Crawshaw," wrote expert Joe Rowles on X, formerly Twitter, while reporter Parker Gabriel said "Credit where it's due: Jeremy Crawshaw was inconsistent through training camp but the rookie punter's off to a really good start to the regular season."

Before the season, Crawshaw said that he had worked closely with Broncos' special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi to get right for the pros, work that looks to be incredibly beneficial so far.

"I appreciate the thought of trying to help me get better," Crawshaw told The Denver Gazette before the season.

"It’s a challenge. It’s fun. You never know when it’s coming, [Rizzi] kind of just yells [punt]. I might be helping [kicker] Wil Lutz with a hold doing a field goal and I hear: ‘Punt!’ So, I just sprint over. I love it."

Crawshaw has punted six total times throughout his first two games, with an average of 46.3 yards and a career long of 53, with all six coming down inside the 20.

He and the team will next face off against the Los Angeles Chargers, as they look to end their opponent's perfect season start on the road at SoFi Stadium.
