Apprentice Chad Schofied had this to say to say to Channel 7 about his stunning ride on Shamus Award as he won the Cox Plate on Saturday: It's fantastic. It's a dream come true and it really hasn't sunk in yet. I thought the horse would run well. He's a very talented colt. He's never had any luck. People were saying he's a maiden, which he is, but he shouldn't be you know. He's been very unlucky and his runs have been excellent. So I thought he would run very well. It would have been bold to say he could win but I was confident after I worked him on Wednesday morning.
