Penrith Panthers hooker Soni Luke has reportedly drawn interest from the Catalans Dragons after struggling for game time over the past two seasons.
The Tongan international is one of nine Panthers yet to secure a contract for next season, as the club sets its sights on achieving an unprecedented fifth consecutive premiership.
Once a regular in the Panthers’ dummy-half rotation, the 29-year-old has seen his role diminish over the past year, falling behind Luke Sommerton in the pecking order, while young prospect Billy Scott is set to be promoted to Penrith’s Top 30 roster in 2026.
Having played just two first-grade matches over the past two seasons, Luke is unlikely to be re-signed by the club and has been exploring opportunities to continue his rugby league career elsewhere in the sport.

According to All Out Rugby League, the Penrith Panthers hooker has emerged as the latest transfer target for the Catalans Dragons, who are continuing a squad overhaul under Joel Tomkins ahead of next season.
Luke has been linked with an overseas move before, having drawn interest from Super League club Hull FC in 2023.
However, he chose to stay at Penrith, making 20 first-grade appearances that season and serving as the primary backup to Mitch Kenny.
A member of Tonga’s Pacific Champions 2024 squad, Luke made his NRL debut relatively late at 26 during Round 7 of the 2022 season, the same year he was part of Penrith’s 2022 NSW Cup premiership-winning side.
