NRL team lists: Every side’s confirmed lineup for the preliminary finals image

There are just four clubs remaining in the premiership race after Canberra and Canterbury bowed out of the finals in straight sets last week.

Cronulla have knocked off the Sydney Roosters and then the Raiders to advance through to a preliminary final, where they will meet with Melbourne.

The Storm have enjoyed a week of rest after beating the Bulldogs in their qualifying final and will welcome some headline talent back from injury for the clash.

Meanwhile, Penrith kept their dreams of an incredible five title wins in a row alive by battering the Dogs in the semi-finals. This victory came after they toppled New Zealand in the first week of the finals.

The reigning premiers have a clean bill of health for the blockbuster against Brisbane, who have been boosted by the return of several big-name stars as they kick back into action after their stunning qualifying final win over the Raiders.

Michael Maguire's side will still be buzzing from their qualifying final win in Canberra two weeks ago and will now welcome a host of stars back from injury for their prelim.

Ezra Mam, Adam Reynolds and Xavier Willison are all back on deck after recovering from their respective injuries.

Selwyn Cobbo is also available again, although he has been unable to dislodge either Josiah Karapani or Deine Mariner

Reynolds will return to the halves after being sidelined since Round 23 due to a hamstring injury.

He will be partnered by Ben Hunt, who takes the No.6 jersey off Billy Walters after he suffered an ACL injury in the triumph over the Raiders.

Meanwhile, Mam will be utilised off the bench, with Maguire easing the five-eighth back into action.

Brendan Piakura has been named to play despite suffering a facial injury against the Raiders. He gets the nod ahead of a returning Jack Gosiewski and Jaiyden Hunt.

Patrick Carrigan has been ruled out due to suspension, so Tyson Smoothy has been promoted off the bench to play lock ahead of Kobe Hetherington.

Willison will join Hetherington on the pine after recovering from an arm injury.

Reece Walsh was in danger of being ruled out of the prelims after being sent to the sin-bin for a headbutt against the Raiders. However, the club's talisman managed to avoid a ban.

There was also a concern about Payne Haas as he was hampered with a leg issue against the Green Machine, although he too will be free to take his place in the starting side after being cleared of an injury.

Panthers team news:

Penrith produced yet another stunning display on the big stage as they brushed aside Canterbury in their semi-final to march into the prelims.

Casey McLean and Liam Martin failed to see out the win, but the duo were taken off just as a precautionary measure and will play this week, according to Ivan Cleary.

McLean suffered a cork to his hip, while Martin was crunched in a tackle from former teammate Viliame Kikau that left him clutching at his ribs. They have both been named to start.

Mitch Kenny returned from a hamstring issue last week after being a late addition to the side ahead of Luke Sommerton. The dummy-half takes the No.9 jersey from the start in Sunday's blockbuster.

Storm team news:

Melbourne will welcome Ryan Papenhuyzen and Jahrome Hughes back to the fold after they missed their side's qualifying final win over Canterbury a fortnight ago.

Papenhuyzen missed the opening week of finals after suffering a concussion in Round 27, but replaces Nick Meaney at fullback for this one.

Meaney returns to the centres and this pushes Grant Anderson out of the backline.

Hughes suffered an arm injury during the loss to Brisbane in Round 27 and it was believed the halfback's season may have been over. However, the Kiwi playmaker is now set for an early return.

Jonah Pezet has dropped out of the team despite impressing in the halves against the Dogs.

Ativalu Lisati has been named to start in the backrow, even though Shawn Blore has returned from a throat injury. The latter has been included on the bench, while there is no place in the 17 for Joe Chan

Meanwhile, enforcer Nelson Asofa-Solomona is suspended for the rest of the campaign.

UPDATE:

Blore has been promoted into the starting side ahead of Lisati as the backrower returns from injury.

Cronulla confirmed team:

2. Sione Katoa
3. Jesse Ramien
4. KL Iro

18. Daniel Atkinson

Sharks team news:

Craig Fitzgibbon hasn't tinkered too much with a winning side after Cronulla romped to victory over the Raiders in the nation's capital to advance through to the prelims.

However, he has made one enforced change after Tom Hazelton suffered a concussion during the win. The big prop was a late addition on the bench in the place of Oregon Kaufusi, who has been brought back into the 17.

Toby Rudolf copped a charge for a high tackle on Joe Tapine, but he will be free to take his place up front after only being issued with a monetary fine for the illegal shot.

Billy Burns was also cited for dangerous contact in the match, although the backrower avoided a suspension. He starts ahead of Briton Nikora once again in a major show of faith from his coach.
