Penrith recovered after a horrendous start to their premiership defence this year to surge up the ladder and have several clubs nervously looking over their shoulders.
The Panthers' nine-game winning streak saw them nestle into the top-eight and they then headed across the ditch to knock off New Zealand in their elimination final.
Ivan Cleary's side used this momentum to blitz Canterbury in the semi-finals to book their spot in the prelims against Brisbane.

Panthers latest team news:
Penrith produced yet another stunning display on the big stage as they brushed aside Canterbury in their semi-final to march into the prelims.
Casey McLean and Liam Martin failed to see out the win, but the duo were taken off just as a precautionary measure and will play this week, according to Ivan Cleary.
McLean suffered a cork to his hip, while Martin was crunched in a tackle from former teammate Viliame Kikau that left him clutching at his ribs. They have both been named to start.
Mitch Kenny returned from a hamstring issue last week after being a late addition to the side ahead of Luke Sommerton. The dummy-half takes the No.9 jersey from the start in Sunday's blockbuster.
