The Wests Tigers have confirmed the re-signing of former Panthers centre Taylan May for an additional two years.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity the Tigers have provided me and the belief and faith that Benji and the coaching staff have shown in me,” May said.

“I’ve been able to live out a dream to play in the NRL alongside my brother—it’s something that we’ll both remember for the rest of our lives. I’m excited for that to continue and remain part of this group,” May concluded.

Coach Benji Marshall also praised the re-signing, highlighting May’s work on and off the field as well as his excitement to see the young centre’s impact with a full pre-season under his belt in Tigers colours.

While May started his Tigers career in NSW Cup this season, he quickly earned a first-grade opportunity, debuting for the club in Round 20 against the Gold Coast Titans.

May scored a try in a thrilling one-point win in that contest, and since then has looked dangerous as the Tigers’ starting centre.

He finished the season with seven NRL matches, crossing for four tries, adding three try assists and six line breaks—proving to be a value buy for coach Benji Marshall.

May’s brother Terrell has made no secret of wanting to play alongside him, and after the Panthers parted ways with both, the pair now appear set to be reunited long term in Tigers colours.

May’s extension headlines a key recruitment drive from the Tigers this year, aimed at keeping their squad intact while adding the right pieces to finally break into top-eight contention.

Alongside May’s re-signing, Adam Doueihi and Starford To’a have also chosen to remain at Concord for next season and beyond, while the impending arrivals of Kai Pearce-Paul, Jock Madden, Mavrik Geyer, and Ethan Roberts in 2026 bolster the roster further.

On paper, the Wests Tigers’ aspirations to play finals football again next year look well on track to becoming a reality.
