The Wests Tigers were riding high at Leichhardt Oval as they were beating North Queensland and still had a slim hope of making the finals.
However, a late collapse saw the Cowboys overpower them and rule Benji Marshall's side out of contention for a place in the top-eight.

Tigers latest team news:
Jeral Skelton suffered a concussion while attempting to put a big hit on Ethan Strange last week and will miss the club's last game of the year.
Teenager Heamasi Makasini has been handed his NRL debut on the wing ahead of the likes of Charlie Staines and Brent Naden as Skelton's replacement.
Alex Seyfarth has served his suspension and returns to the side via the bench, pushing Charlie Murray to the reserves.
Adam Doueihi has been sidelined with a fractured cheekbone for the past few weeks and is the main absentee for the Tigers.
