England and Scotland last faced each other recently in April 2025 as part of the Guinness Women’s Six Nations, when England emerged with a 59 - 7 win as a part of their grand-slam victory.

England will be expecting to progress to the semi-finals, as they come off the back of a 30 match strong winning streak, including being undefeated during the pool rounds.
England beat the USA, Australia and Samoa convincingly in the group stages - with Australia being ranked above Scotland in the world rankings.
However, the Red Roses have lost a significant powerhouse as fullback Ellie Kildunne sits out this match with a head injury, with Helena Rowland - who won Player of the Match against Samoa - taking her place at 15.
Captain Zoe Aldcroft is returning to the squad after a knee injury, flanked by Sadia Kabeya, who has established herself as a try-scoring machine, and Alex Matthews who captained against Australia.

World number eight’s Scotland will have their work cut out for them on Saturday, as the runners-up of Pool B face England.
Scotland have won two of their three pool matches, only losing to Canada 40 - 19.
They emerged victorious against both Wales and Fiji, wining 38 - 8 and 29 -15 respectively.
Francesca McGhie has stood out in the campaign thus far, scoring a huge six tries across the three games and being Scotland’s biggest metre-maker, carrying the ball over 300 metres.
In defence, Evie Gallagher is a firm and dangerous presence, renowned for her powerful tackles and play altering defence.
Rhona Lloyd and Emma Orr, who are both starting in the backs, have also established themselves as key pillars of the Scottish attack, scoring three and two tries respectively.
