Davis Cup format: How does it work?
In 2025, two rounds of qualifiers are being held, with nations fighting for one of the eight Davis Cup Finals spots.
For the first round of qualifiers, 26 countries did battle across 13 home-or-away ties. Each tie comprised four singles matches and one doubles match – all held across two days.
The 13 victors from that round (along with a wildcard) have progressed to the second round of qualifiers, where seven home-or-away ties will take place in the same match format as the prior round.

Then, the seven successful nations will join reigning champions Italy in the Finals.
Those countries will play in a classic knockout draw, starting with the quarter-finals.
