It was a pretty ugly start in Dublin, as after Iowa State failed to move the chains, Dylan Edwards of Kansas State fumbled the punt. The Cyclones got the ball inside the 10 and failed to score, even after a defensive pass interference from Kansas State.

Finally,  Dominic Overby caught a 25-yard strike from Rocco Becht to put Iowa State ahead 7-0. Overby is a 6-foot-5 receiver out of West Jordan, Utah, who had just one reception for the Cyclones last season, for nine yards.

Becht, of course, is looking to continue his strong 2024 season. He finished with more than 3,500 yards passing and 25 touchdowns for Matt Campbell's Cyclones. He threw nine interceptions on the season.

As Kansas State came back on the field for offense, Dylan Edwards remained out of the game, and his status was in question going forward. Edwards, who started his college football career at Colorado was projected to be a massive part of the Wildcats offense in 2025.

Following this game, both teams will head back to their campus, as Iowa State hosts South Dakota. The Wildcats will take on North Dakota.
