The Wolverines wallowed under the lights in Norman last Saturday, falling to then-No. 18 Oklahoma. Underwood, the touted five-star freshman, went just 9 of 24 for 142 yards through the air, leaving much to be desired. The majority of Michigan's offense came on one play: a 75-yard rushing touchdown from Justice Haynes.
The Chippewas should be a soft landing, but that doesn't mean Michigan won't face additional challenges: Head coach Sherrone Moore will not coach the next two games as a result of a self-imposed suspension for NCAA sanctions. Associate head coach Biff Poggi will handle Moore's duties in the interim.
Central Michigan is coming off a 28-point loss to Pittsburgh in which it rotated three different quarterbacks, headlined by Joe Labas and Jadyn Glasser. The Chippewas were picked to finish in ninth place in the MAC preseason coaches poll.
