When an NFL player tries to pretend that it isn't hard to bring down Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry, it usually doesn't end well for them.
There is nothing wrong with admitting the obvious, which is that Henry is a human freight train when he gets going and is one of the hardest players to tackle in the NFL today, and in league history.
But players keep poking the bear, and Cleveland Browns safety Grant Delpit is just the latest to do so. When asked if it's difficult to tackle Henry, Delpit gave Henry bulletin board material with his answer.
"Not hard," Delpit said, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.
Henry was an absolute menace against the Browns the last time these two teams faced off in Week 18 last season. The future Hall of Famer exploded for 138 rushing yards and two scores while adding two catches for 23 yards.
Being that he's over the age of 30, everyone is expecting Henry to slow down at in the near future, which is fair considering that's the age running backs begin declining. But Henry showed no signs of slowing down in Week 1.
Yes, he did have a costly fumble, but he also ran for 169 yards at 9.4 yards per tote and found the end zone twice, both of which came on long runs. In all, Henry had three carries of 30 or more yards, including two over 40.
We also got some vintage Henry after he laid out a Buffalo Bills defender with a vicious stiff-arm.
So, yeah, Henry very clearly still has it and he might show Delpit that first hand when the Ravens welcome Cleveland to M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
