The Buffalo Bills got their record up to 2-0 in blowout fashion, defeating their AFC East rivals, the New York Jets, 30-10, not allowing a touchdown until garbage time of the game.
After allowing over 400 yards of total offense in Week 1, the Bills limited the Jets to just 154 yards. The Jets also didn't convert a third down all game, going 0-for-11. However, it's a Mitch Trubisky stat that shows just how great the Bills' defense was on Sunday.
After Josh Allen suffered a nose injury that caused his face to gush blood, Trubisky came in and immediately fired a 32-yard completion to Josh Palmer. How does that showcase the Bills' defense? Trubisky had more yards in that pass than Jets starter Justin Fields had all game. Fields finished the game 3-of-11 for 27 yards while Trubisky went 1-of-2 for 32 yards.
The Bills will be playing on a short week, as they will get set to host the 0-2 Miami Dolphins in Buffalo on Thursday night. Should they defeat Miami, they will be 3-0 while the Dolphins fall to 0-3. For all intents and purposes, the Bills could lock up the AFC East before Columbus Day.
