Will the Browns cut Shedeur Sanders? They're on a 24-hour deadline to decide QB's NFL future image

The Cleveland Browns, and the rest of the NFL, are approaching a crucial deadline.

Tuesday, August 26 is roster cutdown day.

That means that every team needs to have their roster reduced to a 53-man group by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

For the Browns, all eyes are on the quarterback room. They've already cut Tyler Huntley, which leaves the quartet of Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Most NFL teams don't carry four QBs into the regular season. But the Browns? Maybe they will.

Will the Browns cut Shedeur Sanders?

The Cleveland Browns are not expected to cut Shedeur Sanders ahead of the NFL's roster cutdown day.

In fact, they're expected to keep all four quarterbacks, according to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot.

It would've been a surprise for the Browns to draft Gabriel (third round) and Sanders (fifth round) only to cut them before their rookie seasons began in earnest.

Flacco is slated to be the Week 1 starter.

If anything, Pickett is the most moveable piece, although probably not in a straight-up cut. He's a possible trade candidate if another team is looking for a veteran QB (like the Raiders, who need a backup for Geno Smith).

Cleveland Browns QB depth chart

The Cleveland Browns' quarterback depth chart likely looks like this heading into the regular season:

  1. Joe Flacco
  2. Kenny Pickett
  3. Dillon Gabriel
  4. Shedeur Sanders

As mentioned above, Pickett is a possible trade candidate.

The Browns also have Deshaun Watson, who is still rehabbing a torn Achilles.

It's a crowded room, to be sure, but one that Sanders is expected to remain a part of.
