The Dallas Cowboys fell 24-20 to the Philadelphia Eagles in their Week 1 game on Thursday night. The Dallas defense held its own in their first regular-season game since trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.

Dallas held Jalen Hurts to 152 passing yards and Saquon Barkley to 60 rushing yards, and no receiver had over 60 receiving yards. Questions have swirled about whether the Cowboys' defense can replace Parsons' production following the trade.

In a recent episode of "The Odd Couple With Rob Parker & Kelvin Washington," co-host Rob Parker said that the Cowboys' defense can survive losing Parsons, even without their star edge rusher.

"I think people made it where they thought the team was going to collapse because they got rid of Michael Parson," Parker said. "Seriously. And I think that's the overvaluing of people... All my point is you move on from people and it ain't the end of the world.

"And I think people sometimes overvalue people. You take certain quarterbacks off a team, I'm with you. You got no shot. You lose your starting quarterback in Week 1, your season's over."

Moreover, Parker believes that while the Cowboys don't have that single talent, Parsons, they can still make up the production by committee rather than relying on one player.

"Almost every other position, you have a chance at just replacing them and then having to figure out what you need to do to compensate a little bit," Parker added. "You cheat a little bit because you don't have that same guy. I'm not saying he's a bum or Micah Parsons isn't any good. I just don't think it's the end of the world as people painted it for the Dallas Cowboys not to have him."
