The Denver Broncos made one roster move on Wednesday in addition to the big trade that sent Devaughn Vele to the New Orleans Saints.
The Broncos brought in well-traveled defensive lineman Michael Dwumfour and waived undrafted linebacker JB Brown. Brown, out of Kansas, was a pick by many to make the team at inside linebacker this year, but he has been lost in the shuffle at that position.
Brown spoke of "taking someone's job" this spring after being signed, but fell behind Levelle Bailey and fellow undrafted signings Karene Reid and Jordan Turner.
Dwumfour went undrafted out of Michigan in 2021 and began his NFL career with the New York Jets. Here is a list of his NFL stops:
New York Jets
Houston Texans
San Francisco 49ers
Cleveland Browns
Tennessee Titans
Houston Texans
Chicago Bears
Cleveland Browns
San Francisco 49ers
He has had two separate stints with three different teams and some of his stays have been very short. This could be another one.
With just one preseason game left to play this Saturday against the Saints, Dwumfour is not going to be a candidate to make the 53-man roster. He will be looking to do just enough to convince the coaching staff that he should be part of this year's 16-man practice squad.

As for Brown, he will have to hope that another team gives him a look and gets him on the field for one more preseason game to have that same opportunity. In two preseason games with the Broncos, Brown was credited with two tackles.
