With the final week of the preseason set to kick off this week, NFL teams will begin to finalize their initial 53-man rosters.

Cut-down day is on Tuesday, and the Detroit Lions have a couple of tough decisions to make, especially in the wide receiver room. The position group has a bunch of young talent fighting for roster spots, including Ronnie Bell.

Bell has tallied three receptions for 37 yards in the preseason and has shown some flashes. However, Sports Illustrated's Christian Booher predicts Bell will miss the cut and not make Detroit's initial roster.

Booher has undrafted free agent rookie Jackson Meeks snagging the sixth and final spot in the receiver room over Bell and seventh-round rookie Dominic Lovett.

A seventh-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, Bell has an uphill battle to make the Lions' roster. Meeks has clearly outperformed him in the preseason, and Lovett has also been better.

Though he does have more experience than the pair of young receivers he's competing against, Bell doesn't provide much upside. The 25-year-old has tallied 90 yards and three touchdowns through two seasons.

Overall, Bell was dealt a tough hand. The Michigan product had to beat out two promising rookies for a spot on the roster, and he has been outplayed by both thus far.

The Lions will finish the preseason on Saturday versus the Houston Texans. That will be Bell's final chance to salvage any hope of making the 53-man roster in Detroit.
