Another year, another Marcus Davenport injury concern for the Detroit Lions.
Davenport exited not once, but twice in the Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears, as he suffered both ankle and shoulder injuries in the 52-21 victory.
Davenport was able to finish out the game, but it was pretty clear he wasn't 100% when doing so. Now, the question is: will Davenport miss any time?
Head coach Dan Campbell didn't have an answer to that question on Monday, but he did reveal that the team is getting second opinions on either one or both of the injuries.

“We’re still getting things looked at with that," Campbell said.
"I’m hoping it won’t be too bad, but until we get a couple of these second opinions back, I won’t know for sure,” he added when asked about his level of concern.
It certainly isn't uncommon for players and teams to seek a second opinion, but that could also be a sign that both sides didn't get a good answer from the first tests.
The bigger concern right now appears to be with the shoulder after Davenport had ice on it following Sunday's contest. The veteran did not comment on the severity of his injury.
This situation with Davenport is exactly what Lions fans feared most following the team's lack of action along the edge this past offseason. It was always going to be risky for Detroit to depend on Davenport given his lengthy injury history.
Davenport wasn't pleased with all the talk about what he has gone through injury-wise during his career, but it was a very valid concern. And if that injury history comes back to bite the Lions again, it's not his fault, but rather general manager Brad Holmes' for not doing more to fortify his Super Bowl-caliber team.
If Davenport goes on the shelf, the Lions' already shaky depth will be even worse and Detroit is going to need Al-Quadin Muhammad to step up big time opposite Aidan Hutchinson.
From there, it would seem almost unfathomable for the Lions to not make a move, but then again, that's what we thought all offseason before Detroit did next to nothing to address what was a major need.
