Rookie TE Tyler Warren Cracks Top 10 Fantasy Rankings Ahead of 2025 Season image

Tyler Warren enters his first NFL season already carrying fantasy intrigue. The rookie tight end earned the No. 10 spot in CBS Sports’ preseason rankings, signaling potential value both as a depth option and a possible starter.

Daniel Jones’ History with Tight Ends

Daniel Jones’ track record offers a strong case for Tyler Warren’s early involvement. Across his Giants tenure, tight ends were a central feature of the passing attack. Evan Engram commanded 201 targets in just 30 games, while Darren Waller, Kaden Smith, Daniel Bellinger, and Theo Johnson each carved out roles when on the field.

Jones’ conservative approach amplified their usage—his average depth of target consistently ranged between 3.8 and 6.8 yards, with completion percentages on short throws regularly between 67 and 80 percent. That pattern highlights a passing style tailored to tight ends working over the middle.

Warren’s Collegiate Production

Warren arrives in the NFL with the résumé to capitalize on that tendency. At Penn State, he posted a massive 32 percent target share in 2024, finishing with 104 receptions, 1,233 yards, and eight touchdowns.

Efficiency numbers underscored the volume: his 2.84 yards per route run ranked second among draft-eligible tight ends, while an average of 11.9 yards per catch reflected his ability to generate gains after the catch.

Warren even added 218 rushing yards on 26 carries, showcasing versatility uncommon at the position.

A Seamless NFL Fit

With receivers like Josh Downs pulling coverage outside the hashes, the middle of the field opens for Warren to step into a featured role.

His size, hands, and route-running profile align with the areas Jones has historically attacked. Add in his red-zone reliability—nine catches in scoring territory last year—and the rookie presents as more than just a depth piece.

His placement inside the top 10 of CBS Sports’ fantasy rankings reflects both opportunity and scheme fit, suggesting he could emerge as one of the most impactful first-year tight ends in 2025.
