The Las Vegas Raiders have a potential problem at wide receiver after Jakobi Meyers reportedly requested a trade.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Meyers, who is seeking a contract extension, has asked to be dealt as he and the Raiders remain in a standoff.

To be clear, we don't think the Raiders are going to trade Meyers, even after the signing of Amari Cooper.

Meyers remains very important to the Raiders' offense as the projected No. 1 wide receiver, and No. 2 option overall behind Brock Bowers. If the Raiders trade him, they'll be relying heavily on a pair of rookies in Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton.

But if the Raiders do decide to trade Meyers, the Pittsburgh Steelers are a clear potential trade partner for him.

After all, the Steelers have an even shakier situation at wide receiver. DK Metcalf is going to be Aaron Rodgers' No. 1 target, but there are several question marks behind him in Calvin Austin, Roman Wilson and others.

The Steelers are high on Wilson, but he's also unproven after a rookie campaign that saw him play just five snaps because of injury. Meanwhile, Austin is hardly what you'd consider a reliable No. 2 receiver.

One possible roadblock for the Steelers acquiring Meyers is the fact that he wants an extension. Pittsburgh is already shelling out big money to Metcalf and likely won't be keen on having a bunch of money wrapped up in two receivers.

That said, Pittsburgh is also all in on this season and it wouldn't be shocking to see general manager Omar Khan make a sizeable splash by trading for and extending Meyers.

At the end of the day, we simply don't see the Raiders trading Meyers.

Chances are he isn't going to sit out and will just play out the final year of his deal. We also certainly wouldn't rule out Meyers and the Raiders meeting in the middle on an extension at some point.
