Kyren Williams and the Los Angeles Rams have said all the right things.

They appear like everyone involved wants to get a contract extension done, maybe sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, Los Angeles added to its running back room, just in case.

The Rams officially signed fourth-round pick Jarquez Hunter on Friday.

L.A. traded up 10 spots to get Hunter in the fourth round of April's NFL Draft.

Hunter played four seasons at Auburn, increasing his yardage every year.

In 2024, Hunter has 187 rushes for 1,201 yards (6.4 ypc) and eight touchdowns. He also caught a career-best 21 passes.

The Rams already had plenty of RB depth behind Williams with Blake Corum and Ronnie Rivers.

Hunter now joins that group.

If Williams re-signs, Hunter may never break through in L.A. But if things fall through with Williams, Hunter could push Corum for the long-term position.

The Rams and the rest of the football world will wait it out to see what Kyren will do.
