The New York Jets will look much different in 2025 than they did in 2024.

For starters, the team ended the Aaron Rodgers experiment after two disappointing years, and will seemingly roll with Justin Fields at quarterback in 2025. Fields was brought in on a two-year deal worth $40 million, and the team is certainly hoping the former top pick finally lives up to his potential.

However, for Fields to do that, he'll need some help. The Jets don't currently have the best supporting cast, especially after Davante Adams and Tyler Conklin left in free agency.

As a result, it wouldn't be surprising to see the team add a veteran pass-catcher before the season gets underway.

Moe Moton of Bleacher Report identified Keenan Allen as an available free agent who would make a ton of sense on the Jets. Regarding Allen, Moton offered the following:

At 33, Keenan Allen can still help a playoff contender or young quarterback with his reliable hands and ability to find the end zone once his team reaches the red zone. He has a career 68.1 percent catch rate and recorded nine of his last 14 touchdowns with a reception within 16 yards of the goal line.

In 2024, Allen caught 70 passes for 744 yards and a team-leading seven touchdowns with the Chicago Bears. He moved the chains for a first down on about 61 percent of his receptions. If teams can look beyond Allen's age, he can be a dependable No. 2 option in a passing attack.

As Moton mentioned, Allen is now 33 but is still reliable enough to help out an offense in a complimentary role.

In 2024 with the Bears, Allen caught 70 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns. The veteran led the team in receiving touchdowns and developed solid chemistry with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.

Allen shouldn't be relied upon as a top option at this point, but he would be a solid No. 2 option behind Wilson. Wilson is a bona fide No. 1 receiver who has never had less than 1,000 yards in a season, so much of the defensive focus will be on him, allowing Allen to thrive.

Currently, the Jets have veteran journeyman Josh Reynolds and Allen Lazard slated to start next to Wilson. Reynolds caught just 14 passes last year, though, and has never been a reliable option. Lazard, meanwhile, tends to follow Aaron Rodgers and could potentially be traded if/when Rodgers signs somewhere.

Spotrac projects Allen to land a two-year deal worth $11.1 million annually. However, with it being so late in the offseason, it's possible the veteran would settle for less. Over the Cap has the Jets sitting at around $25 million in cap space, so adding the veteran makes sense financially.
