The New York Jets, like every other team in the NFL, are working through their roster decisions. Teams have to be down to 53-man rosters by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
That means a lot of cuts, and one of the players let go by the Jets has a well-known father.
The Jets have waived Jordan Clark, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Clark is the son of ESPN analyst and former NFL safety Ryan Clark.
This Clark is expected to be on the Jets' practice squad if he clears waivers, according to Schefter.
Clark, also a safety like his father, began his college career at Arizona State.
He played parts of five seasons with the Sun Devils. In 40 total games, he had 139 tackles, including seven for loss, while intercepting three passes.

Clark transferred to Notre Dame for his final year of college eligibility and went all the way to the national championship game with the Fighting Irish.
He played in 16 games for Notre Dame, totaling 37 tackles, including two for a loss. He also intercepted a pass and had five passes defensed.
Clark isn't big, measuring at 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds. And it was always going to be an uphill battle to make an NFL roster as an undrafted free agent.

But the fact that the Jets want to keep him around on the practice squad suggests that they believe he has potential.
He certainly has solid genes. His father made a Pro Bowl and won a Super Bowl ring.
Clark hopes he can follow in those footsteps in as many ways as he can, and he'll have to keep proving himself at the NFL level, even if that now comes on the practice squad.
