The home fans will be eager to witness quarterback J.J. McCarthy's first throw to the receiver on Sunday night after being stranded on 499 in 78 games after the road game at Chicago last week.
McCarthy sprung a surprise last weekend. After struggling through three quarters in his debut match, where the Vikings' offense was stagnant at just 85 yards, the young quarterback produced a late spark.
He fired two scoring passes, added a 14-yard touchdown run and turned around the offense, giving the Vikings a 10-point lead and won 27-24, validating coach Kevin O'Connell's faith in him.

Meanwhile, the Falcons lost to the NFC South divisional rival Buccaneers 20-23 and make the trip to Minneapolis where they lost 42-21 in Week 14 last year. However, this time, though, both teams will have different quarterbacks, with Atlanta turning to rookie Michael Penix Jr. for his first NFL start.
