The San Francisco 49ers put in their last day of practice ahead of the Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and there were positive injury updates on Brock Purdy, Jauan Jennings and Mac Jones, but a negative update on Ricky Pearsall.
According to Matt Barrows over at The Athletic, Jones was "back to throwing" at practice on Friday after he didn't do that on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jennings was practicing for the second straight day after he returned to the field the day prior.
As for Pearsall and Purdy, neither one was practicing for the third straight day. That signifies that both will be out yet again this week, which isn't surprising for Purdy.
While Purdy is not expected back this week, he did show a sign of progress, as he was seen pushing a sled on the side field.
"Unlike yesterday, Mac Jones was back to throwing at today's practice," Barrows said. "Jauan Jennings also was on hand for second straight day. No Brock Purdy or Ricky Pearsall. Purdy seen pushing a weight sled, suggesting his big toe is making progress."
The Niners will release their final injury report of the week later in the day, but for now it looks like Jones and Jennings will suit up, but Purdy and Pearsall won't.
San Francisco has the luxury of taking its time with Purdy considering how well Jones has played.
With Pearsall seemingly set to sit out, Kendrick Bourne should see another big role in the passing attack. Jennings will operate as Jones' No. 1 wide receiver, though.
