The Toronto Maple Leafs are officially out of the NHL playoffs and they might have a surprise reason to blame.

Justin Bieber, a longtime fan of the team, attended the game with his wife, Hailey.

The two were sitting behind the benches and got a front-row seat to the 6-1 beatdown at the hands of the Florida Panthers.

After the game, another A-list celebrity chimed in on Bieber's attendance.

Drake posted on Instagram "Bieber curse..." in response to the Leafs' playoff elimination.

Drake had some motivation behind the diss. He dropped over $1,000,000 on Toronto to win the game. He added another $250,000 on the Leafs to win by two or more goals.

Needless to say, the music star walked away empty handed.

"The Drake Curse" has been a running gag in many sports circles. From Alabama Football to Kentucky Basketball, the man otherwise known as Aubrey Graham has been a part of a lot of bad gambling losses.

He's adding this one to the pile, but placing the blame on Bieber.

Whichever pop star wants to take responsibility for it, it won't make a difference to the Maple Leafs.

It's another year they've fallen short and they'll blame nobody but themselves.
