The Toronto Maple Leafs seem interested in bringing back Max Pacioretty.
The latest reports indicate that only one other team might stand in the way of keeping the veteran free agent.
Maple Leafs beat writer Nick Alberga reports that Pacioretty's priority is to be close to his family in Michigan.
That means that if he doesn't sign with Toronto, he'll likely join the Detroit Red Wings, according to Alberga.
Pacioretty is expected to get a contract in the range of $1-2 million for a year.

Turning 37 on Nov. 20, Pacioretty is hoping to keep his hockey career alive.
Pacioretty has now played 17 seasons in the NHL. His first 10 years were with the Montreal Canadiens.
Since then, he's played for Vegas, Washington, Carolina and Toronto.
This past regular season, he had just 13 points in 37 games, but he turned it up in the postseason, with eight points in 11 playoff games.
It looks like he'll get a chance to keep playing, and the decision comes down to the Leafs or the Wings.
