The Toronto Maple Leafs lost Mitch Marner on Monday evening.
Around the same time, they opted not to extend a qualifying offer to Pontus Holmberg, so that's two wingers leaving Toronto.
Holmberg, with 49 points in three Maple Leafs seasons, is clearly not the same level as a star like Holmberg. But the Leafs could've kept him around.
Instead, he'll be an unrestricted free agent.
In 2024-25, Holmberg put up seven goals and 12 assists across 68 games.

He's made a great career for himself as a sixth-round pick from 2018.
The 26-year old Swedish winger will now have to find a new home, though.
Someone out there will surely take a chance on Holmberg.
But he's no longer with the Maple Leafs.
