Real Betis hosted their first home game of the season and the first one since they've temporarily moved away from the Estadio Benito Villamarín,

Betis is renovating their stadium and have moved into Estadio La Cartuja temporarily which is the Olympic stadium in Seville that hosted the Copa del Rey final.

It was important for Betis to get their fans excited for the move and get fans into the stadium and winning their first home game is the right way to start.

The Game

The game started off with a good intensity as Alavés went after Betis and were close to scoring but had a chance cut out by Marc Bartra, he then gave the ball away, and Pau Lopez made the save.

Betis then responded by going on attacks of their own and Aitor Ruibal had a chance from a cross but headed it high.

In the 18th minute, Giovani Lo Celso put it in the back of the net to make it 1-0 after Jonny Otto couldn't clear a Cucho Hernandez header.

With that one goal Betis won the game but this wasn't a boring game like the scoreline may suggest.

Alaves were kept in the game by their goalkeeper, Antonio Sivera, who looked shaky at times but made big saves that kept the score close. Pau Lopez also made a few saves but it always looked closer to 2-0 then 1-1.

In the end, it was a deserved win for the home team and they hope that Lo Celso can keep playing this well in the absence of Isco.
