Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu makes announcement after receiving WNBA championship ring image

The start of a new season means a ring ceremony for the defending champs.

The New York Liberty received their rings for winning the 2024 WNBA championship in their 2025 opener against the Las Vegas Aces.

When Sabrina Ionescu got her ring, it was all smiles. The star guard was overjoyed and had a jaw-dropping reaction when she first saw the glitzy jewelry.

It was a well-deserved reward for Ionescu after a 3-2 series win over the Minnesota Lynx.

The fifth-year guard was clutch, hitting the game-winning shot in game three with just a second to play.

After she received her bling, the Liberty's guard had some words to share with the home crowd.

She thanked the fans for their support and set a high bar of repeating this season.

The announcement isn't a surprise, but Ionescu is clearly confident heading into the 2025 season.

With a core of her, Jonquel Jones, and Breanna Stewart, that goal isn't unattainable for the Liberty.
