India's young T20I opener Abhishek Sharma is widely renowned for his explosive batting and has become one of the most intimidating batters in the shortest format.

Sharma is the current NO.1 batter in T20Is and has now breached another landmark. The young star has entered an elite list of batters by crossing 900+ rating points in the ICC T20I rankings.

The young left-handed opener from Punjab has seen an exceptional rise in world cricket. The batter came into light with his exceptional performances at the Indian Premier League, where he opened the batting for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. His consistent and fearless batting was soon rewarded as he made his debut for India's T20I side.

Crossing 900 rating points is not a small feat; it's rather a sign of batting excellence in the shortest format. Sharma is now just behind the Indian greats Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav as he sits fourth on the elite list. 

Sharma is currently a key feature in the Indian T20I setup. The batter has become a permanent feature in the shortest format for the Men in Blue. In his short International career, the young star has already smashed two centuries, adding more diamonds to his glory.

Ever since his debut for India last year, Sharma has become an integral part of the side. The batter has scored 708 runs in 20 innings at an average of above 35 and a blistering career strike rate of 197.

His short career to date includes a total of 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries, with his highest score being 135 against England, which came earlier this year. He additionally became the World No.1 T20I batter in such a short span, which is a testimony to his dominance in the format.

Sharma is currently a part of India's Asia Cup squad, where he is opening the innings alongside the Indian vice-captain Shubman Gill. He is also the highest run scorer in the tournament at present with 173 runs in 4 innings. 

His wonderful knock of 74 off just 39 balls led India to a commanding victory against the arch-rivals Pakistan in their Super Fours encounter last Sunday. He will now feature in India's next match against Bangladesh on September 24th.
