Post defeating the West Indies 3-0 in a 3-match Test series, the champion side has now etched its name in history, breaking a unique record in the T20I series.
Australia becomes the first team to defeat the West Indies 5-0 in T20Is
The Australian side has become the first-ever team to inflict a 5-0 clean sweep over the West Indies in a bilateral T20I series. The visitors thoroughly dominated the hosts in what was a one-sided battle between two giants of T20I cricket.
The Caribbean side has never had a clean sweep in a 5-match T20I series before this. However, they have faced clean sweeps on several occasions in T20Is, the latest being their loss against England (3-0 in a 3-match T20I series) earlier this year.

With a score line of 5-0 in T20Is, Australia ended their tour to the West Indies, winning 8 games (Tests and T20Is) in a row, which is a testament to Australia's sustained dominance across formats.
The T20I series kicked off in Jamaica, the venue for the first two games, from where the caravan shifted to St Kitts for the last three. Australia got the better of their opponents on each occasion, and that too in a comprehensive manner.

West Indies cricket is facing a very difficult time. The 5-0 loss came in one of their most favored format, which is a huge wake-up call for the Caribbean nation. Earlier West Indies failed to qualify for the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.
With a T20I World Cup next year, West Indies would be keen to improve on their performances and undertake all the necessary actions to bring back its cricket to the right path.
