Bangladesh have named their 16-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025, with Litton Das set to resume as captain. Wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan is making his comeback after almost three years.
The tournament begins on September 9, and the Tigers will look to break their finals jinx after finishing runners-up three times in the past.

Who will lead Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2025?
Litton, who guided Bangladesh to back-to-back T20I series wins against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka earlier this year, has been trusted once again to lead the side.
His leadership has been praised for bringing a fresh, aggressive approach to the team. Litton, apart from captaincy, is expected to be a vital anchor with the bat at the top order.
One of the biggest stories from the squad announcement is the return of Nurul Hasan Sohan.

The 31-year-old last played for Bangladesh in the 2022 T20 World Cup but has been recalled after strong outings for Bangladesh A in the Top End T20 series in Darwin.
His wicketkeeping skills combined with his finishing ability in the lower middle-order could add balance to the side.
Which other players have earned their place back?
Alongside Nurul, opener Saif Hassan also found his way back into the team. His inclusion strengthens Bangladesh’s opening options alongside Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon.

The pace department will once again rely on experienced names like Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, and Mohammad Saifuddin.
Together, they provide Bangladesh with both swing upfront and variations at the death. In the spin attack, Mahedi Hasan has been preferred over Mehidy Hasan Miraz, joining Nasum Ahmed and young leg-spinner Rishad Hossain.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has also named Soumya Sarkar, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Tanvir Islam, and Hasan Mahmud as standby options.
