'Can't win by destroying team' - Saeed Ajmal's emotional message to Babar Azam and Rizwan after IND vs PAK Asia Cup defeat image

India once again crushed Pakistan in a T20I match -- this time in the Asia Cup 2025, restricting them to just 127 runs in Dubai. India then successfully chased down the total and won by 7 wickets.

The Men in Green won the toss and opted to bat first, but they did not look comfortable att the crease as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

After Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah made early breakthroughs, the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel ran through the middle order before Shaheen Afridi's 33*(16) saved Pakistan from a major embarrassment.

Among the vocal critics of Pakistan's batting performance was former spinner Saeed Ajmal, who posted a sarcastic reel and left an emotional message for Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

Following the six-wicket defeat to India, Ajmal took to his Instagram and posted a reel, which sarcastically criticized their slow approach at the start of the match.

During their batting, Pakistan notably faced 63 dot balls, amounting to 10.3 overs. Sahibzada Farhan faced 44 deliveries in the innings but could only score 40 runs.

This was the same reason cited for Babar and Rizwan's removal from the team. However, Ajmal remembered the duo, recalling how the two batters followed the same slow batting approach but still used to create an impact for the team.

"We cry as we miss you, Babar Azam and [Mohammad] Rizwan. These strike rates remind us of you. They score 50/5 in 10 overs; you used to be unbeaten after scoring 50 in 10 overs. Pakistan may win against India in many things but a cricket match doesn't look like one of them. The way they play, it is very difficult," he said.

"There is no positive approach in batting, it is disappointing. You cannot make a team by destroying it," he left a cryptic line.

In their next fixture, Pakistan is set to face the hosts, UAE, on September 17. They will try to confirm their Super Four position after India has qualified from Group A.

The two teams could potentially face each other once again in the next round of the tournament, followed by the final, when they will have a chance to avenge this 7th consecutive loss across formats.
