India and Pakistan locked horns in their Super 4s clash at the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday, September 21, with the Men in Blue coming at the top. In the past few years, the two nations have faced each other only in the ICC or ACC Tournaments.

India vs Pakistan is one of the most-watched sporting events on the cricket calendar. Now, with the limited occurrence of the fixture, the hype around the game increases manifold, to say the least.

Both India and Pakistan have won the T20I World Cup in the past - India (2007 and 2024), and Pakistan (2009). Moreover, both have emerged as two of the giants in the shortest format of the game.

Following the recent clash of the Asia Cup 2025, The Sporting News looks at the head-to-head T20I records between the two nations. Soon after the emergence of the T20 format, the sporting ties between the two arch-rivals were cut off, limited to the ICC and ACC tournaments.

What is the T20I head-to-head record between India and Pakistan?

In the T20I format, India and Pakistan have locked horns against each other on 15 occasions. The limited occurrence of the fixture boils down to the worsened political ties and governance of the two countries, mainly after the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai.

India leads the head-to-head record by 11-3. The first-ever T20I game between India and Pakistan in the 2007 World Cup ended in a tie. India were the eventual winners, though, after winning the bowl-out.

India's most recent win over the arch-rivals came in the Super 4s fixture of the Asia Cup 2025, where they chased down 172 runs in 18.4 overs and 6 wickets in hand.
