India’s path consists of 27 matches ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup
As the calendar ahead is jam packed for India, the way to the 2027 ODI World Cup will be anything but easy. Following a two-month IPL window and a Test series in England, their first ODI assignment after the Champions Trophy will be a three-match series against Bangladesh in August-September 2025.
A challenging away series against Australia will follow in October-November, right after the T20-format Asia Cup. The schedule doesn’t get any easier from here. India will close out 2025 with a home series against South Africa before hosting New Zealand in January 2026.
After co-hosting the T20 World Cup and another IPL season, they will return to ODIs against Afghanistan in June; the first-ever bilateral ODI series between the two teams. A month later, a familiar rivalry will resume when India take on England in an away series.
