On Sunday evening, BCCI announced the India A squad that will face Australia in a three-match ODI series starting this month.
The matches will serve as a good platform for selectors of both nations to pick the best players for the main series that will happen down under in October.
There were reports of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli possibly being included in the India A squad, but the two stalwarts will not feature in the games and instead travel to Australia directly next month.

India A squad for ODI series against AUS A revealed: Tilak, Rajat appointed captains
Rajat Patidar and Tilak Varma from Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians, respectively, have been appointed captains of the two India A teams for the series.

The Patidar-led side will feature in the first ODI, while Varma will lead another team in the second and third matches of the series. In Varma's team, Patidar has been included as vice-captain.
The squad also features the likes of Riyan Parag, Prabhsimran Singh, Abhishek Sharma and Ravi Bishnoi, who have performed in the Indian Premier League 2025 season.
