The Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025 brings India and Pakistan face-to-face once again, this time in Dubai on September 21.
The last meeting ended in India’s favor, and the form of both teams makes the Men in Blue look like the side to beat. Pakistan, however, are still in the race and will look for inspiration and some luck to turn things around.

Former cricketer Bazid Khan believes Pakistan’s best chance lies not just in skill but also in an extra push of fate, what fans now call Qudrat ka Nizaam.
Why does Bazid Khan think Pakistan need something special?
India have been on a roll in this tournament, winning all their matches so far. Even when they rested a few main players against Oman, they still managed to get the job done.
Pakistan’s path, in contrast, has been rougher as they start with a good win over Oman, then losing heavily to India, before finally beating UAE to keep hopes alive.
The major concern for Pakistan has been their batting. Openers like Saim Ayub have not fired, with three ducks in a row. Captain Salman Ali Agha too has struggled for runs. Sahibzada Farhan’s aggressive intent has not paid off either, leaving the side with fragile starts in most games.
Looking at this, Bazid Khan gave a blunt assessment. He said that Pakistan has no chance against India and the start of the game is critical for Pakistan. Picking up one or two early Indian wickets could allow Pakistan to put pressure and create an opening.
“If you analyze the situation, Pakistan’s chances of winning seem slim. When you evaluate which team excels in T20 cricket, India stands out as a superior side, dominant in every department. So, how can you defeat them? It requires a surprise element, perhaps in the form of a player like Salman Mirza, combined with every player performing to their full potential,” Bazid said.

What is Qudrat ka Nizaam?
The phrase Qudrat ka Nizaam has become almost a running joke and rallying cry for Pakistani fans. It translates to “nature taking its course” or the “law of nature.”
The term first gained attention in 2022 when then-coach Saqlain Mushtaq used it after a T20I loss to England, saying, “Day and night, summer and winter, rain and clouds… they keep going on. This is qudrat ka nizam. Sports is also like this. Win or loss will keep going on. So we should accept it.”
At the time, many were puzzled and even mocked the explanation. But during the 2023 World Cup in India, when Pakistan needed multiple results elsewhere to go their way to stay alive, fans turned the phrase into an unofficial motto.
Since then, it has lived on in cricket conversations as a symbol of hope against odds. Now, as India look the stronger side in the Asia Cup Super Four, Bazid Khan’s remarks almost echo the same thought.
