Batting first in adverse English weather conditions is always a tough task for batters across the world, yet KL Rahul and Yashasvi did the job with perfection for India as they put up a brilliant 94-run opening partnership in the fourth Test match in Manchester.
Rahul, unfortunately, fell short of yet another half-century in the series as shortly after play resumed post-lunch, the right-hand batter departed for 46 runs with 94 runs on the board.

Despite his dismissal, Rahul did manage to achieve a unique milestone with his cameo innings as he became only the fifth batter in the history of Indian cricket to score 1000 or more runs on English soil.
Legendary Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar was the first Indian to score more than 1000 runs in England. He was then followed by Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and ex-India captain Virat Kohli.
Rahul now joins a unique list of players to achieve the incredible record in the challenging English conditions.
