The tempers on both the Indian and Pakistani sides are running high ahead of the teams colliding on Sunday, September 21, in the Super Four of the Asia Cup 2025.
Following the Group Stage game between the teams, Pakistan media and former players expressed displeasure in India's decision to skip the customary handshake.
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav refused to shake hands with his Pakistani counterpart Salman Ali Agha, first at the toss and then immediately after the match.

While SKY revealed that it was planned in advance in order to honor the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and in support the armed forces, Pakistan fans and players were left shocked by the incident.
Among the people unhappy was former Pakistan captain and legendary batter Mohammad Yousuf, who made controversial remarks about India skipper Suryakumar Yadav.
In a befitting reply, Ravichandran Ashwin has urged the Indians not to stoop to their levels and respond on the cricket field.
R Ashwin hits back at Yousuf's 'pig' remark against Suryakumar Yadav
The 51-year-old Yousaf referred to Yadav as a 'pig' on Pakistani national television to express his anger towards the Indian team, following the handshake row.
Hitting back at Yousaf, R Ashwin took to his YouTube channel (Ash Ki Baat) to deliver a smart but strong reply. The former CSK spinner remarked that it was not worth the pain to engage with the former Pakistan players by stooping to their levels and encouraged the team to answer them on the field.
"Never argue with people who are below your IQ level or what you think your level is because when you have information on a certain thing, the other person without any information will never debate with logic. He or she will bring you down to their levels and defeat you in that contest handsomely. They are experts at their level and will never try to reach your level," said Ashwin.
Adding to it, the recently retired off-spinner felt applying any logic and trying to make sense of what Pakistani players say would be a victory for the opponents for managing to bring you down to their level.
"We will try to take advantage of our reality, truth and information, and our truth now is cricket. We play top quality cricket, bat well, bowl well and should just stick to that. India, as a cricketing nation, is a superpower, and let's try to keep going at that," the Indian legend emphasized.
Having retired from international cricket in the middle of the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Ashwin announced his retirement from IPL in August and has expressed his desire to play foreign T20 leagues.
